Mark and I arrived at ‘The Harmonie’ at half past 4, as usual we are too early. But we rather be too early then being in the car for so long because of rush hour. This place was I think a movie theatre, and concert place in one. It was so beautiful! I think that it wasn’t that old. Mark and I were the first ones that arrived, so we had to wait for the others to come, Mark was refreshing his guitar and I was looking for the lady’s room. When I walked upstairs I could here another band doing a soundcheck, it sounded great, great venue. When I looked closer I could see that the percussionist was our monitor guy in the Baroeg in Rotterdam. It’s a small small world:) Going backstage, we had two rooms to ourselves, what a luxury!!! The walls were painted dark pink, a lot of colour for metal! The band was getting our equipment and Linda ( Coen’s girlfriend and our merchandise sales figure ;) ) were sitting backstage. I had a little surprise for her because our Sint had come by our house:)And strange enough the guy with the pointy head also appeared at our tour manager’s place, we all got a chocolate letter! It wasn’t the first letter of our names, I got a T, I think because I have tits. ;)After that dinnertime! But when we arrived, there were like 4 small potato’s left and we had to share. But luckily they made some fries for us. We were eating and eating and suddenly I saw a old guy with big glasses walk in the room. He was Freek de Jonge! He is a guy who makes people laugh for money. I guess he was doing a show that evening. As I said a lot of thing were happening in The Harmonie. Later we could here him trough the speakers that were hanging all over the place. I could here the audience laughing, so I guess he did a good job!Half past 9 SHOWTIME! The last show that we had was two weeks ago, so we were a little bit nervous. I could see there were a lot of people with long dresses and a lot of make up, it looked great! The intro started, and I really had to go to the toilet! Ahhrg!!! I didn’t have enough time, so I went on stage and we rocked! And as usual we could see our Viking sticking out of the audience! Nice to see a familiar face! He was singing along and that gave me a great feeling! It was a great day! A great start for the December tour!
Saturday night Mark and I stayed at Linda’s place in a village near Eindhoven called Geldrop. She had a small room at the attic. We had to arrive at the Effenaar at half past three. This time we were a little late, because we slept too long. Our fault. A photographer was waiting for us. Mark and I had a photoshoot for the Essent Award that we’d won. Mark and I were powdering our face and in the meantime the photographer was looking for a good spot to make the pictures. We could see the pictures and they look great!Soundcheck! Today was a little special because we had a guest singer Nanda! She will sing with me the acoustic version of Feint. It sounded great and we were both looking forward to it! Nanda helped out the band after the departure of Helena and we promised her that she could sing with along one day. This was the day! Dinnertime, we had ‘Zuurkool’ typical Dutch food, Mark’s favourite food. He ate too much, three plates. His tummy was a little bit swollen.Today there was a second photoshoot. This time it was with our own photographer Natascha van Poppel (www.studiomystica.nl) It had to be special so we all got a red Christmas head and some reindeer ears! And for our Santa (Ad) a whole suit! He stuffed his coat under his sweater so he really looked like a Santa which had been in the sun for too long. We had a blast, and of course you can see the result in the near future on Natascha’s website.Too bad that the singer of our support act was ill, so we had a replacement. Casual Silence, well they play no casual stuff, I really liked it and they got great reactions from the audience! After that it was our turn. We played a long set, and managed to get the audience to sing a long, as usual during the chorus of ‘Cry for the Moon’.
It was a great weekend!!! Thanks to my mates and our fans!!!! |
